About us

We sleep on the sheets we review.

Bamboo Sheet Reviews has been publishing independent bedding reviews since 2022. We don't accept press samples, we don't run sponsored placements, and the people writing the reviews are the same people doing the sleeping.

Methodology

How we score a sheet.

Every set we publish on goes through the same four-stage protocol. The order matters: we want to feel a sheet before we know its price, sleep on it before we read the brand's marketing copy, and wash it before we draw a verdict. Every score on this site reflects what we actually experienced, weighted by what we think matters to most buyers.

The five dimensions, weighted equally:

  • Softness — first-night feel, plus how the fabric ages over 25 wash cycles
  • Cooling — surface temperature readings plus subjective overheating reports from two reviewers in two climates
  • Durability — pilling, shrinkage, and structural failures (torn elastic, blown seams) over the test cycle
  • Sustainability — fiber sourcing, processing method, certifications, supply-chain transparency
  • Value — quality delivered per dollar, accounting for typical sale prices, not just MSRP

Independence

Why our reviews are not for sale.

We make a small affiliate commission when readers click through and buy. We disclose it on every review. The team that writes our reviews has no contact with the team that negotiates affiliate deals — a separation we keep intentionally because it preserves the only thing that gives this site value: trust.

What that means in practice: if a brand on our top-four list quietly switches mills and the quality drops, we'll publish that. If a brand we have no commercial relationship with releases a new sheet that beats one of our current picks, we'll move them up the rankings. We've done both.

The team

Two reviewers, two climates.

Our editorial team is small on purpose. Every set we review gets put through the same two reviewers — one in Phoenix, one in Boston — both of whom have been writing about bedding for the better part of a decade. Two perspectives in two climates lets us catch the brands whose marketing claims fall apart on a humid August night or a 40°F February morning.

We pay reviewers per published review, not per click, and we set their schedules so they can take the time a fair test requires. A typical review takes us six weeks from unboxing to publication.
